FUNCTIONS OF THE PLANNING, RESEARCH AND STATISTICS DEPARTMENT

NIGERIAN COPYRIGHT COMMISSION

The Planning, Research and Statistics (PRS) Department is responsible for planning the programmes of the Commission such as seminars and workshops; making necessary research and providing useful statistics for day-to-day running of the Commission.

It is structured into four (4) Units, namely: Planning (P) Unit; Research and Statistics (R&S) Unit; Library Service (LS) Unit; and Management Support and Secretariat (MSS) Unit. The duties are as follows:
i. Planning of all programmes of the Commission;
ii. Conducting relevant research;
iii. Maintenance of databank on authors and their works;
iv. Coordination of the activities of the Commission’s Specialised Library;
v. Coordinating the preparation of the Commission’s work plans as well as monitoring and evaluation of the work plans;
vi. Collating and analysing the reports of activities from NCC State Offices;
vii. Collaborating with the Finance and Accounts Department in the preparation of the annual budgets of the Commission;
viii. Liaising with relevant MDAs on policy matters;
ix. Managing the Commission’s external collaborations;
x. Covering Management Meetings and Staff Town Hall Meetings;
xi. Collating data on the Commission’s activities and writing reports such as briefs, quarterly and annual reports; and
xii. Performing any other functions as may be assigned by the Director-General.
