IN recognition of his outstanding contributions to journalism in Nigeria, the Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ) recently honoured the pioneer Director-General of the Nigerian Copyright Commission (NCC) and former Deputy Governor, Akwa Ibom State, His Excellency, Obong Moses F. Ekpo, MFR with a Milestone Recognition Award.

Director-General, NCC, Dr John O. Asein, received the Award on behalf of the pioneer DG at an event held at the Oranmiyan Hall, Airport Hotel Ikeja, Lagos on 17th October 2024.
According to the organisers of the event, the award was to acknowledge the exemplary work and commitment of His Excellency as a professional who excelled in his career as a Journalist and in the Civil Service.

Also honoured at the event were the Governors of Katsina and Akwa Ibom State as media friendly Governors 2024. This recognition highlighted their support for media initiatives and also their efforts in fostering a vibrant and responsible journalism environment in the regions.

The event recognized individuals and organizations that have made significant impacts in promoting ethical journalism and enhancing the media landscape.
