STATE Coordinator, NCC Owerri Office, Mr. Oseji Martin, has charged printers on the need to adhere to copyright laws in the conduct of their daily work as printing press outfits.
This was stated during an enlightenment meeting with the Printers Association at the NCC Owerri office on 23rd January, 2025.
The State Coordinator affirmed the Commission’s stand against printers not keeping proper records of all their works. He highlighted the duties of a printing press as stated in Section 48 of the Copyright Act and the penalties for noncompliance.
Mr. Oseji, cautioned printers to shun all acts of piracy or connivance with pirates and ensure transparency and accountability through their record keeping system as anyone found culpable will be dealt with according to the law.
The Acting Chairman of the Printers Association, Mr. Ezu Osuji expressed gratitude and pledged that members of the Association will adhere to the provisions of the Copyright Act.
