a move to check piracy and other copyright infractions, the Kano Office of the Commission, carried out inspection at several schools in the Gyadi-Gyadi area of the state, on September 30, 2024.

The State Coordinator, Nigerian Copyright Commission(NCC) Kano Office, Mr. Ahmad Sani, explained that the initiative was meant to ensure that only legitimate educational materials are distributed in schools.

Mr. Sani further noted, that the move is part of the NCC’s broader mission to advance the growth of the creative industry in Nigeria through efficient administration of the copyright system.

During the inspections, the NCC team reviewed invoices to ensure compliance with copyright regulations and urged booksellers to maintain high standards in their transactions.

Schools inspected during the exercise include: Ar-Riayadh International School; New Hamdala Continental School; Kuntau Science Academy and Eden Junior Academy.
