NCC Enrolls 15 Staff Members in French Language Programme

IN line with its commitment to strengthening capacity and preparing staff for international engagements, the Nigerian Copyright Commission (NCC) has enrolled 15 staff members at the Institut Francais du Nigeria for a four months French Language Programme: Professional French for the Workplace.

The intensive beginners’ course, which commenced on 27th March 2024 aims to develop staff members French language skills, focusing on understanding, communication, grammar, pronunciation and spelling.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, the Director-General, Nigerian Copyright Commission (NCC), Dr. John O. Asein urged participants to be dedicated and attentive throughout the classes, emphasising the importance of French language proficiency for international engagements. “This is to help you grow in your career and help position the Commission better” he assured.

While restating the Commission’s commitment to staff training and welfare, he further encouraged participants to make the sessions very interactive and fun.
Director, Nigerian Copyright Academy (NCA) and Programme Coordinator, Mr. Collins Nweke, thanked the Director-General for supporting the initiative. He encouraged participants to take full advantage of the opportunity and commit to learning fully. He emphasised the importance of punctuality and active participation.

The tutor, Monsieur Galangal Stephen thanked the DG-NCC and participants, highlighting the benefits and opportunities that the French Language proficiency offer. He noted that French language is a vital bridge in the professional and social communication, spoken my many countries.
Participants were drawn from the various departments of the Commission and the Office of the Director-General.
