THE Nigerian Copyright Commission (NCC) Port Harcourt Office and the Directorate of State Services (DSS) Port Harcourt Directorate have agreed to partner in the areas of intelligence sharing and training of employees of both organisations to enhance copyright protection in Rivers State.

He expressed appreciation to the DSS for granting the NCC access to the DSS detention facility for detention of arrested piracy suspects.”.
Speaking further, the DPO solicited more intelligence sharing between the two organisations to check copyright piracy of all forms at different locations with emphasis on activities in respect of shipping containers with copyright content at Port Harcourt sea port.

Reacting to the request for intelligence sharing between the two bodies, the DSS Director noted that it was imperative for the two organisations to form an intelligence team to effectively carry out the mandate of checking piracy in the State. He assured that the DSS would use that platform to train officers of the Commission on intelligence gathering.
