MCSN, Kaduna Booksellers Association Engage NCC State Office

MUSICAL Copyright Society of Nigeria (MCSN) has initiated consultation with NCC Kaduna Office towards ensuring enhanced antipiracy interventions and improved collective administration of rights.

Coordinator of the Society’s Kaduna and Kano Zone, Mr. Moses Ukamabo, disclosed this when he led an MCSN delegation on a consultative visit to Kaduna Office of NCC on 31st August 2022.

Accompanied by the Vice Coordinator, DJ Wise, the MCSN Zonal Coordinator said the visit was also aimed at welcoming the new NCC State Director, Kaduna Office, Mrs Susan Bashorun. while providing an update on the recent activities of MCSN.

MEANWHILE Booksellers Association of Nigeria (BAN) Kaduna Chapter has sought the cooperation of the NCC for increased public sensitisation on the ills of book piracy and purchasing pirated books belonging to right owners as schools geared up to resume for a new session.

Outgoing Chairman of the association, Mr. Jude Okonkwo, made the call on 24th August 2022 while leading the executives of BAN on a courtesy visit to the Kaduna Office of the Commission.

The delegation informed part of the purpose of their visit was to deepen the existing relationship with the Commission and welcome the new Director of NCC Kaduna Office.

In the same vein, the State Director, Mrs. Susan Bashorun, convened a stakeholders’ meeting with book publishers on 23rd August 2022, to brainstorm on effective ways to tackle book piracy in the current book season in anticipation of school resumption by September 2022.
