John Ikechukwu Okafor

Reputed to be one of the most hilarious comedians of all time in Nigeria, the late John Ikechukwu Okafor was born on the 17th October 1961.

Before his acting career, Okafor was a boxer, football coach, karate practitioner, hairstylist and photographer.

He became a prominent face in the Nollywood Industry with his fame rising to high heights when he acted in the 2004 and 2005 movie titled “Mr. Ibu”.

This Colossus of an actor had acted in the following films: Mr. Ibu (2004); Mr. Ibu 2 (2005); Mr. Ibu and His Son; Coffin Producers; Husband Suppliers; International Players; Mr. Ibu in London (2005); Police Recruit (2003); 9 Wives (2005); Ibu in Prison (2006) and Keziah (2007) among over 200 Nollywood films he has acted.

His versatility saw him venture
into music which lasted for a short while leading to his release of some songs on 15 October 2020 titled “This girl” and “Do you know”.

Mr Ibu, the actor , comedian and influencer indeed raised the bar of comedy in Nigeria . He died on 2nd March 2024 and will be greatly missed by his family, multitude of fans and the entire creative community in Nigeria.
