JIDE KOSOKO

Jide Kosoko is a veteran Nigerian actor, director and producer who was born into a royal family in Lagos, Nigeria on January 12 1954.

Kosoko began his acting career as a child actor in 1964 in the television production series titled ‘Makanjuola’. His source of inspiration as an actor was the legendary Nigerian thespian , Sir Herbert Ogunde.

Kosoko has acted in so many television soaps and films such as: ‘Abeni’;’Asewo to re Mecca’;’Ti Oluwa ni Ile’;’The Meeting ‘; ‘Passport’; ‘Love is War’ among many others.He has also featured in prominent TV soaps like “The New Masquerade” and ‘Jenifa’.

This great performer has many awards to his credit such as: Lifetime Achievement Award from City People Movie Awards in 2017 and 2021; Industry Merit Award 2016, Africa Magic Viewer’s Choice Awards; Best Yoruba Actor,17th African Film Awards etc.

He is also a brand ambassador
of the popular Juice company Chivita.

Jide Kosoko is indeed an industrious actor/performer and a major face and player in the movie/film industry in Nigeria. He also remains popular as a crossover actor in English Language and Yoruba films respectively.
