IBADAN LEADS AS NCC CELEBRATES WBCD

April 23, 2024 draws high for the celebration of World Book & Copyright Day (WBCD). The Nigerian Copyright Commission (NCC), Ibadan office that is efficiently maned by Mrs. Oluropo Oke, has set out a well-packaged programme of this WBCD celebration with a pacesetting standard.

Therefore, on April 23, 2024 in Ibadan, every road will lead students, teachers, authors, publishers, book marketers, government functionaries and other stakeholders to the IACD Library & Resource Centre, beside The Booksellers, Jericho, Ibadan, for the World Book & Copyright Day celebration starting by 11a.m prompt.

With the theme, READ YOUR WAY, the DG of NCC, Mr. John Asein who is the Chief Host, has given directives for the celebration to hold in 15 towns in Nigeria. So, it is going to be a big celebration with Ibadan taking the lead.

A renowned Professor of Publishing and Copyright Studies in Africa, Prof. Andrew Okwilagwe will Chair the event, while Dr. Kolade Mosuro of the great Booksellers fame will be the Father of the day.

In accordance with the theme, READ YOUR WAY, students who have read their ways, are very ready to dazzle the audience and make their schools very proud of them.

This 2024 World Book and Copyright Day celebration is in honour of Prof. Wole Soyinka, UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador who has reached the house of ninety hearty cheers.

Expected to support the NCC DG, John Asein to make the celebration very thick, are the Oyo State Commissioners for Police, Education and Culture & Tourism respectively. As part of this 2024 WBCD celebration in Ibadan, a group of blind students will read some literary works to entertain the audience.
