Divine Ikubor popularly known as Rema is a Nigerian rapper, singer and songwriter who was born in the year 2000 in Benin City, Edo State, Nigeria.

Rema’s talent started blossoming in his youthful years when he was involved in singing and rapping while in secondary school.

The artist released his self titled debut EP ‘Rema’ in 2019, which peaked at number one on Apple Music Nigeria.

Rema’s breakthrough came on the May 21, 2019 when his popular track ‘Dumebi’ introduced him as a shinning star on the rise.

Rema who has become a household name in the creative industry in Nigeria and beyond has a number of songs to his credit like: ‘Iron man’; ‘Dumebi’; ‘Calm Down’; ‘Charm’; ‘Warm up’ ; ‘Holiday’ among others.

This great star has achieved many feats and won many awards at home and abroad: Some of his awards include:’The Future Awards Africa for Music’, 2020; MTV ‘Best Music Video Afrobeat’, 2023; Billboard Music Award for ‘Top Afrobeat Musician’, 2023 and two awards from the Headies Awards for ‘Digital Artist of the Year 2023’ and ‘Best Male Artist of the Year 2023’ respectively.

Rema is indeed the rave of the moment who has made a remarkable feat becoming the first African musician to win a Chinese music award in a collaboration with the American artist Selena Gomez in the song ‘Calm Down’ at the Hito Music Awards.

Rema, the young Nigerian music artist is also fast becoming the face of Afrobeat music in Nigeria and Africa.
