DG NCC Receives Award as Ambassador/Grand Patron of OGAN

DIRECTORGENERAL, Nigerian Copyright Commission, Dr. John O. Asein has received an award as Ambassador/Grand Patron of the Organisation of Gospel Artistes of Nigeria (OGAN).
The DG was given the award at an event held in Aba, Abia State on 9th December 2024.
Receiving the award on behalf of the DG NCC, State Coordinator, NCC Owerri Office, Mr. Martin Oseji, thanked OGAN for honouring the DG and recognising the impact of the Commission in fighting piracy. Mr. Oseji commended OGAN for rewarding creativity by also honouring members of the organisation who are promoting the gospel through their music.

Speaking further, the SC emphasised the importance of copyright protection in the music industry noting that it is essential for creators to reap the benefits of their creative works while calling for a more committed relationship between the group and the Commission.
Chairman OGAN, Aba Chapter, Apostle Chindindu James in his remarks expressed happiness at the partnership between the NCC and OGAN while also commending the efforts of the NCC at fighting piracy in the creative sector.

Meanwhile, the Imo State Office of Commission paid a familiarisation visit to the newly posted Director of the Department of State Service (DSS) Imo State.

Speaking during the visit, the SC Mr. Martin Oseji expressed appreciation to the Agency for their support to the Commission in the past while calling for continuous collaboration with DSS in the fight against Copyright piracy.
The Director, DSS, Mr. Aguda expressed willingness of his organisation to work together with the Commission’s office in Owerri to ensure the enforcement of Copyright Law in the state. He assured the State Coordinator of assistance in the aspects of intelligence sharing and training to equip staff with knowledge on other technical areas of operations.
