DAVID ADEDEJI ADELEKE

David Adedeji Adeleke professionally known as Davido is an American-born Nigerian afro beats/afro pop singer, songwriter and record producer born on November 21 1992 in Atlanta, Georgia, United States, and raised in Lagos, Nigeria.

Davido made his music debut as a member of the group KB International. Since making his debut, he has released a number of singles such as:
“Dami Duro”, “Omo Baba Olowo”;”Back When”; “Ekuro”, “Overseas”;”All of You”;”Gbon Gbon” and “Feel Alright” “Gobe”, “One of a Kind”, “Skelewu”, “Aye”, “Tchelete (Goodlife)”, “Naughty”, “Owo Ni Koko”, “The Sound” and “The Money”.

The Afrobeat singer has been honoured by the Nigerian Government with the award of Officer of the Order of the Niger (OON) and won a number of awards such as:Kora Awards “Best Newcomer Award”,2012; BET Awards, “Best International Act Africa”,2014; MTV Africa Music Awards 2014, “Best Male Artist of the Year” ; Channel O Music Video Awards 2012, “Best Video by a New Artist” among other awards and recognitions.

Davido has over the years signed record deals with Sony Music and
has himself founded the record label Davido Music Worldwide. In April 2017 Davido released “Fall” which became the longest-charting Nigerian pop song in Billboard history. In 2019, New African magazine listed Davido as one of the 100 most-influential Africans while in February 2021, he appeared on Time Magazine’s “Time 100 Next List”.

The music maestro who is a 66th Annual Grammy Awards nominee through his artistry has become a prominent cultural ambassador for Nigeria and a prominent voice on human rights in Africa and is the most-followed African artist on Instagram and X
