OPERATIVES of the Nigerian Copyright Commission, Yola Office, inspected some Printing and Publishing Companies within Yola metropolis on 30th May, 2024.

State Coordinator NCC Yola Office, Mr. Ibrahim Yusuf who stated this in a report gave the names of the Publishing and Printing Press inspected as Yero Publishing Company, Noah Printing Press and Roga Printing Press.

Mr. Yusuf in his report informed that the companies visited violated section 48 of the Copyright Act, by their refusal to keep register of works as stipulated by the Act, and were given two weeks to open the registers with the required information to avoid being sanctioned.

IN a related development, Officers of the NCC Yola Office paid goodwill visits on some of the Commission’s stakeholders to appreciate their support to the Yola Office during the celebration of the 2024 World Book and Copyright Day and World Intellectual Day on 23rd and 26th April respectively.

State Coordinator NCC Yola Office, Mr. Ibrahim Yusuf who led the Commission’s delegation stated that the goodwill visits to selected stakeholders was a way of showing appreciation for their support, informing that the stakeholders provided reading and writing materials to students that participated at the two events.

He also informed that Special Thank You letters were issued to the stakeholders during the visits.
