CHIMAMANDA NGOZI ADICHIE

Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie is a renowned novelist and author of a number of short stories, she was born on September 15, 1977 in Enugu State, Nigeria.

Chimamanda is a strong advocate of feminism and is deeply committed to the well-being of the female gender which often reflects in her creative writings.

She has published numerous works which have earned her many literary awards and nominations, which include:

 i.Commonwealth Writer’s Prize for the Best First Book 2005

ii.Orange Prize for Fiction (2005)

 iii. Anisfield-Wolf Book Award for fiction  (2007)  – Half of a Yellow Sun (2006).

 Moreover, her first novel, Purple Hibiscus(2003) received wide international recognition and was shortlisted for the Orange Prize for Fiction(2004) while her third novel, Americana (2013) was selected by the New York Times as one of the 10 best books of 2013.
