NIKE DAVIS-OKUNDAYE (Textile Artist)

Nike Davis-Okundaye is a world-acclaimed female artist, born in 1951 at Ogidi Ijumu, Kogi State, in North Central Nigeria.

She has made amazing giant strides in textile, visual arts and mixed media painting across the globe.

An artist of excellence with both local and international recognition. Nike is the founder and director of four art centres that offer free training to more than 150 young artists in visual, musical and performing arts.

Her artworks have gained international recognition over the years with her painting on permanent display at the Smithsonian Museum as well as the British Library in London.

Nike has also been featured on CNN International African Voices where she spoke about her craft.

In 2019, she marked 50 years of promoting and exhibiting traditional and contemporary African Art across the world.

She is indeed an artist of many parts and a Copyright icon.
