I. All persons engaged in the business of video/film rental shall be accredited by the Nigerian Copyright Commission in line with the Copyright (Video Rental) Regulations 1999.
II. Persons seeking to be accredited by the Commission to engage in the business of video rental should obtain forms from Offices of the Commission nearest to their intended business location, upon payment of required accreditation fee into the designated bank account of the Nigerian Copyright Commission.
III. On completion, the form should be returned to the Zonal Office where it was obtained, and the applicant would be issued the official receipt of the Commission and a letter of accreditation.
IV. The official receipt of payment issued by the Commission as well as the letter of accreditation shall serve as evidence of accreditation.
V. Accreditation of an outlet shall be renewable annually.
VI. The same process in steps (i) to (iv) shall apply in the case of renewal of accreditation.
VII. All accredited outlets shall obtain written authorization/licence of the owner of copyright in video/films used for rental; such licences should be available for inspection by officials of the Nigerian Copyright Commission.
VIII. Producers and owners of copyright in films may notify the Commission of the issuance of rental license to any video rental operator.
