NCC Impounds Broadcast Materials Worth Four Million Naira (N4m) In Warri

The Nigerian Copyright Commission, NCC, has impounded broadcast materials worth Four Million Naira (N4m) in a broadcast raid carried out in Warri, Delta State on April 15, 2014.

A report from the Zonal Manager (ZM), Benin, Mr. M. O. Madueke stated that the anti-piracy raid was carried out under the supervision of the Director, Enforcement, NCC, Mr. Austin Amodu in the following locations; Ekete Inland by Shagamu Street, Oletu Hotel Junction, Ekete Waterside, Onoteghara Street, Okumagba and DSC Shopping Mall.

Further information from the ZM revealed that broadcast materials such as decoders, smart cards, remote control, dishes, splitters and cable wires were recovered from suspected pirates.

The ZM explained that suspects were apprehended during the raid while investigation into the matter is still on-going.
