NCC Confiscates N2.3 Million Worth Suspected Optical Discs, Arrests 4 Suspects

The Nigerian Copyright Commission (NCC) recently arrested four (4) suspected pirates with Two million, three hundred thousand naira (N2, 300, 000) worth of Optical Discs.

The infringing copyright works was confiscated by Operatives of the Commission backed by a contingent of armed mobile policemen during an antipiracy raid carried out on May 20, 2015 in Gariki, Obiagu and Asata areas of Enugu Metropolis.

Director, Enforcement Department, Mr. Augustine Amodu, who disclosed this in a report released in Abuja. According to him the seizures included books, cash register and several bags of films and musical works.Mr Amodu added that investigation has since commenced and that the suspected pirates will be prosecuted in the Court of Law.
