The Nigerian Copyright Commission Arrest 3 Suspected Book Pirates

The Nigerian Copyright Commission (NCC), in its all out war against pirates and their accomplices within the Federal Capital City and its environs, has arrested three suspects pirating and commercially distributing a book: Third Term Saga authored by Christian Nwachukwu.

NCC Enforcement Officers backed by a contingent of armed Policemen made the arrest on February 6, 2014 during an anti-piracy operation executed in Gwa-gwa and Suleja market area.

Director, Enforcement of the Commission Mr. Augustine Amodu, gave the names of the suspects as Oliver Shuaibu, Chinyere Thankgod and Ugwu Ikechukwu Kenneth.

The Director described the book as a play with ISBN: 978-978-919-172-7, adding that 10 copies of the books estimated at N5, 000 were seized during the operation.
He said that further investigation to uncover the main source of the reproduction is ongoing.
